Welcome to Boilermaker
Aquatics
The Boilermaker Aquatics Swim Team is one of the nation’s
leading year-round competitive swim teams offering instruction,
training and competition to everyone from young school-aged
children to those at the collegiate level and beyond.
Boilermaker Aquatics (BA) exists to provide an amateur athletic
program in which to encourage the pursuit of excellence in
competitive swimming and to create an environment that is conducive
to the physical, social, and mental growth of its team members. The
program provides both developmental and competitive swimming at
several skill levels to suit the goals and abilities of each
individual.
Program Description
Boilermaker Aquatics Swim Team exists to provide an amateur
athletic program that encourages the pursuit of excellence in
competitive swimming. Try-outs are required to join the team since
membership on the team requires a minimum skill level. The team
does provide periodic swim lessons and clinics to the general
public so children can gain knowledge of the basic strokes and the
minimum skills needed. The program currently utilizes pool
facilities at the West Lafayette High School, Harrison High School,
Purdue University, and West Lafayette Parks and Recreation. There
are two seasons per year, the short course season
(September-February) and the long course season (April-July). The
team holds call-outs/try-outs at the beginning of each season. The
team and all swimmers are members of USA Swimming and Indiana
Swimming.
Boilermaker Aquatics Swim Team is a not-for-profit organization.
Operating expenses for the team include team fees, facility rental
fees, coaches meet expenses, equipment costs, team communication,
resources needed to host meets, team activity expenses, ribbons and
awards, etc. Revenue is generated by fees, hosting home meets,
sponsorships, advertising, donations, and fund-raising
activities.
